With a camp site situated directly on the shoreline of Shaver Lake, we enjoyed a few great days of fresh air, incredible scenery, and some fun.  Starting with a private guided tour of the campgrounds by a Venture Scout the moment we arrived, we immediately felt at home and welcomed at Camp Chawanakee; familiar with the location, the schedule, and our responsibilities.

While Troop 683 was one of the smaller patrols among troops from Central / Northern California councils, the boys worked well together to receive recognition throughout the week.  The patrol was singled out on Tuesday evening for their scout spirit and campsite inspections and also received honor patrol recognition for the week.  Individually, the boys achieved the merit badge goals each had prior to leaving for camp.

Thank you to Tom  for the year of planning, coordination, and spending a week of his vacation to allow our boys the opportunity to spend a week at summer camp.
